What compliance packaging is

Compliance packaging, often called a blister pack or a bubble pack, is a sealed card divided into compartments. Each compartment holds the medications for one time of day on one specific date, so instead of opening six bottles at breakfast you press out one bubble.

The pharmacist prepares each pack and checks it against your full prescription record before it is sealed. If a doctor changes a dose mid-cycle, we remake the affected pack.

Who it helps

• Anyone taking four or more medications. This is where mistakes start to be common rather than rare.
• Older adults living independently. A pack makes it obvious at a glance whether a dose was taken.
• Family caregivers. You can check on a parent from across the city by asking which bubbles are empty.

How to set it up

1. Talk to the pharmacist. We go through everything you take, including over-the-counter products and supplements, and confirm what belongs in the pack.
2. We synchronise your refills. Most people arrive with medications running out on different dates. We align them so everything renews together.
3. We prepare your first pack. Weekly is standard. Some patients prefer two weeks at a time.
4. We keep it running. Your pack is ready on the same day each week, for pickup or free delivery.

What it costs

For most patients the medications are billed as usual and the packaging itself is provided at no extra charge. Coverage varies by plan, and some third-party insurers treat weekly dispensing differently from monthly. We will check your specific coverage and tell you what you will pay before we start.
