Opioid agonist treatment
Opioid agonist treatment in Burnaby
Daily dispensing handled quietly and without judgement, by a pharmacist who knows your name and works in step with your prescriber.
What we do
- Daily dispensing, including witnessed doses
- Carries, where your prescriber has authorized them
- Coordination with your prescriber and the rest of your treatment team
- The same pharmacist most days, so you are not starting over at every visit
- Service at the counter that does not single you out
Pharmacists do not start opioid agonist treatment and do not change doses. Your prescriber does that. Our part is to dispense accurately, watch for interactions and side effects across everything you take, and tell your prescriber what we are seeing.
Moving your treatment here
- Tell us you are coming. A phone call is enough. We will tell you exactly what we need before your first dose.
- We contact your pharmacy and your prescriber. Pharmacy to pharmacy where possible, so you are not carrying paperwork between offices.
- We confirm your first dose. Date, time and what to expect, before anything changes on your side.
Your treatment is your business. It is not discussed where other people can hear it, and nothing goes outside your treatment team without your consent, except where the law requires it. Our privacy policy sets out how we handle your information.
What it costs
Coverage depends on your plan. We check what your coverage pays before your first dose and tell you plainly what, if anything, is left for you, so nothing is a surprise at the counter.
Common questions
Do I need an appointment?
No. Come in during opening hours. If it is your first visit, call ahead if you can, so we have your dose ready when you arrive.
Can the pharmacy prescribe my treatment?
No. Starting treatment, dose changes and carries are decided by your prescriber. Our part is dispensing, watching for interactions and side effects, and telling your prescriber what we are seeing.
Can I move my treatment here from another pharmacy?
Yes. Tell us where you are now and we contact them and your prescriber. Your dosing is not interrupted while that happens.
Will other customers know why I am here?
No. Nothing about your treatment is discussed where other people can hear it, and there is no separate line or window that identifies you.
