PharmaNet
Pharmacies in British Columbia are required to record dispensed prescriptions in PharmaNet, the provincial medication record. Access to PharmaNet is controlled and audited by the Province. You may ask the Province to place a keyword on your PharmaNet record to restrict access.
Consent
By providing us with your information for the purpose of receiving pharmacy services, you consent to our collecting, using and disclosing it for the purposes described here. You may withdraw consent for uses that are not required by law, though this may limit the services we can provide. Certain disclosures, including PharmaNet reporting, are required by law and are not subject to consent.
How we protect it
We use physical, administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including restricted access, staff training and confidentiality obligations, secure storage and disposal, and audit controls. Records are retained for the period required by the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia and applicable legislation.
Disclosure
We disclose your information only as necessary to provide your care, to bill for it, or where required or permitted by law. We do not sell personal information, and we do not disclose it for marketing purposes.
